"Midland was the toughest, but most rewarding, experience I've ever had." ~Bianca Alvarez `07 (Stanford) For over seven decades, Midland has been educating students in the lessons of scholarship, community, and leadership on a 2,860-acre campus. The school prides itself on giving its students the tools to be authentic learners and citizens, and that the experiences we offer here can not be found at any other school, be it a day or boarding, public or private. On a daily basis, Midland teaches simplicity, service, self-reliance, community, and a love for nature, and the school is committed to making sure that all of our students have a fundamental understanding of their needs versus their wants. In this day and age, this understanding is crucial. So while Midland doesn't offer all the luxuries and flashing lights that other schools do, we do offer a school program that is demanding, authentic, and profound in its simplicity and commitment to its students. If you are ready to set yourself apart, you are ready for Midland School. "Where
else can you say, 'I’ll be right there, once I finish chopping
wood so I can start a fire in the bathroom which will allow the junior
boys and a few seniors to have a warm shower'?" ~Noah Phillips-Edwards
