The goal of the Midland College Counseling Center is to help our students find the right college, one that fits each student's goals. It is a comprehensive process that includes research, standardized testing, recommendations, and various other steps. That is why Midland, despite the small size of its senior classes, employs a college counselor who will help guide our students through this important step. Please contact Lynda Cummings, our college counselor, if you have questions about the process. She is at phone extension 21. A Midland graduate is a high-quality college applicant for a number of reasons. Colleges know that for over 75 years, Midland students have been practicing self-reliance in and out of the classroom, and feel very confident in our students' potential as a college student. Our graduates' GPA's go up an average of .5 in the first year of college, an indication of Midland's academic rigor. Colleges also know that Midland students have been citizens as well as scholars, and have the tools to make their colleges better places. We feel confident in saying that when a college receives an application from a Midland senior, the admissions officer takes notice. Midland’s Class of 2009 received
