Comprehensive resources for all subject areas. Includes lesson plans, assessment rubrics, links to additional educational resources, and free clip-art.
 
A clearinghouse of talks no more than 18 minutes in length that offer "free knowledge and inspiration from the word's most inspired thinkers". The people at TED "believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world."
 
English and Language Arts:
 
Jim Burke's English Teacher's Companion
Exceptional resources for teachers not only of English and Language Arts, but in all subject areas. The "Classroom Materials" links have a wealth of practical resources with student examples that can be printed and used immediately in your classroom. An emphasis on lesson planning, notetaking strategies, developing congitive skills and academic literacy make this a go-to site. Several of Jim Burke's books can be found in the library's professional collection.
 
Fine Arts:
 
ArtsConnected 
Contains over 100,000 images, texts, audio, video, and interactive resources from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Walker Art Institute. Use the Art Finder and the Art Collector to locate images and then "save, combine, annotate and present" those selections.

AMSER is a portal of educational resources and services built specifically for use by those in Community and Technical Colleges but free for anyone to use.
 
E.O. Wilson's project to create "an electronic page for each species of organism on Earth..." Click on "About EOL" and "Education" to access resources for educators, including podcasts, classroom activities, and interactive games.
